Burnout Prevention for Physicians
"BURNOUT PREVENTION
AND SELF-CARE FOR PHYSICIANS"
AND SELF-CARE FOR PHYSICIANS"
"Medicine is a stressful profession, with many countries reporting increased job stress, burnout, sick leave, and even suicide among doctors. We are expected to provide exellent care to patients at all times, but how do we also prioritize our own well-being?
In 2017, the Physicians' Pledge, the modern version of the 2,500-year-old Hippocratic Oath adopted by the World Medical Association in 1948, received an important addition. Physicians are now required to attend to and care for their own health and well-being for the benefit of their patients. This new obligation underscores the importance of self-care for doctors.
This workshop focuses on self-care, offering strategies for establishing daily routines that prevent and manage stress, ultimately enhancing quality of life. By taking better care of ourselves, we physicians can be more empathetic, compassionate, and effective in helping our patients." - Jan Moller MD
